Tire Care Tips
Here at AutoStream Car Care Center in Owings Mills, Maryland, we make it our mission to be your one-stop-shop for all your tire service needs. We offer tire maintenance, tire repair, and new tires for all makes and models. Staying atop tire maintenance is the best way to fight prematurely against the need for repairs or a new set of tires. Wear is an inevitable component of tires, which makes tire rotation one of the most important services. Recommended at least one to two times a year, it involves taking each tire off the wheel, inspecting the wear pattern, and repositioning them back on the car to distribute wear better and prolong the lifespan of your tires. Tire balances correct the weight imbalance of the tire and wheel assembly, and wheel alignment adjusts the camber, caster, and toe to ensure the tire maintains contact with the road at the right angle. Having the proper tire air pressure in each tire is also crucial, as underinflation results in uneven wear and a higher chance of a blowout. At the same time, overinflation leads to an increased potential for damage and poor traction. With our skilled tire repair technicians and experts, we have all your tire needs covered at our auto shop.
Tires are considered a consumable part, which means they wear and age with use. Eventually, you will need to get your vehicle’s tires changed. Failure to replace tires when needed can result in decreased traction, poor braking and steering, and an increased chance of blowouts or punctures. Experts recommend tire replacement every five to six years. Sometimes, however, you may require replacement earlier based on low tread depth, vibrations from the tires, bulges on the sidewall, irreparable tire punctures, or visible damage. If you need new tires, come to our tire repair shop! We keep a vast stock of new tires in-store and can fit the right type on your car, truck, or SUV. Some of the options we offer include all-season, performance, and all-terrain—plus many more. We’ll work with you to choose the best tires for your vehicle and driving habits. We can also take care of your installation to supplement our tire sales. Our tire repair service specialists are experienced and efficient in mounting new tires and are always happy to answer any of your questions.
