Warning Signs you Need Brake Service

There are a handful of warning signs that can alert you to the need for brake repair or service. We recommend listening to your car every so often with the music and ac unit off, this is because most signs cannot be heard over them. Having your brake pads looked at every other oil change is a good habit to get into. Doing these simple things can help you avoid costly repairs in the future. Take a look at some of the warning signs to look or listen out for:

High-pitched squealing sound: The first sign you need to replace your brake pads is a loud high-pitched squealing noise. This is caused by a small metal wear indicator that when comes in contact with your rotor it creates that high-pitched sound.

A loud grinding noise: This is caused by the metal discs in your brake system rubbing against the caliper. This happens when your bake pads are completely worn down to the metal. This sound means you not only need new brake pads but also need to replace or turn your rotors. That can be a costly fix.

Vibration or pulsation when braking: This is also caused from metal to metal contact and is a severe sign you need to have your brakes and possibly you rotors replaced. Metal on metal contact produces heat and can warp your rotors.

Car pulling to one side when braking: This is a sign of irregular and uneven wear. This can also be a sign you may need to check your tires and/or alignment.

I got my cracked windshield replaced today on my Honda 2021 through them, as their reviews on the Internet were excellent. I was not disappointed. I spoke with Mike originally and he was as honest and straightforward as they come. The price was reasonable and the work was “in and out”.

My husband and I are beyond thrilled that we took our car here. Mike and Joe were very helpful and thorough. They even send you pictures so you can see the problem which made us feel very confident in their work. We had our car back the next day and we are so happy that we finally found a trustworthy shop to take our vehicles.

Had to bring my wife’s car in as it was leaking oil. Love the guys at AutoStream because I can trust them to diagnose the problem correctly, fix it right the first time and do it at a fair price. Been taking both our cars there since they opened and very pleased. Highly recommend them!
