High-pitched squealing sound: The first sign you need to replace your brake pads is a loud high-pitched squealing noise. This is caused by a small metal wear indicator that when comes in contact with your rotor it creates that high-pitched sound.
A loud grinding noise: This is caused by the metal discs in your brake system rubbing against the caliper. This happens when your bake pads are completely worn down to the metal. Vibration or pulsation when braking: This is also caused from metal to metal contact and is a severe sign you need to have your brakes and possibly you rotors replaced. Metal on metal contact produces heat and can warp your rotors.
