Can It Be Repaired?

Although many tires can be repaired, it does need to follow specific qualifications to receive the service. Many shops, including ours, may refuse to offer a repair service if your tire has experienced significant damage or if the damage is found in a compromising location. Wondering if your damaged tire can be repaired? Here are two things you should look for:

Check The Location

Even though tires are durable pieces of equipment, any damage must be found in one specific location: the tread. This area is the strongest part of your tire and is the only place where a repair can be sustainable. Any other location, like the sidewall, will only compromise the performance and safety of your tire. If your tire is damaged anywhere other than the tread, it will need to be replaced.

Inspect The Size

Is the damage located within the tread? Good, now see how big the damage is, as a puncture can’t be any bigger than ¼ inch or 6 millimeters in diameter. Why is this our max damage size? Anything bigger can quickly compromise the tire’s structural integrity. Nothing is worse than having to drive with a tire that can breakdown at any second, and we want to make sure you’re using tires that can meet the demands of your vehicle and the road.
