We will take care of your tires as long as it is safe to do so. When it is time to replace them and purchase a new set, you can be sure our recommendation is honest and fair.

Are Your Tires Telling You They’re Tired?

We understand that tires are a major purchase, so you probably want to use the ones you have as long as possible. However, there are some signs that tell you when it’s time for a new set. Some of the warnings are more easily detected by a technician during your service visit. For example, when your tread measures less than 4/32″, you should replace them. While you can measure this yourself, most people find it easier to have their mechanic do it. Similarly, if the tread is worn down to the “wear bar” or the tires are past their tread wear warranty, the technician will remind you that it’s time to consider purchasing tires.

Other warning signs are more readily noticeable to drivers. If your car always shakes when you drive–even on a smooth road–you may need to consider new tires. Also, if the sidewalls look cracked, cords are showing, the tires are unevenly worn, or the tires are bald (lacking tread), they need replacing. Finally, if you are driving on a spare tire, you need to purchase a replacement. First, you need to make sure you have a spare at all times. Second, if your spare is the small “donut” type, it is meant for short distances only–enough to get you to the repair shop when you’ve had a flat.
